Webinar & Demo
Date: Wednesday, May 6, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM (GMT-05:00) Central Time - Winnipeg
Duration: 60 minutes
This webinar will do a deep dive on the ICTv2. We'll explain the differences and improvements over the previous IED Configuration Tool, walk you through the typical workflow for GOOSE and MMS configuration, and go through a practical demonstration via software screenshare so you can see how the new tools works. Participants will have the opportunity for a live Q&A with presenters.
Note: This webinar does not include a detailed introduction to electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation or real-time operation. To learn more about these topics, listeners should watch this short video before joining.

Webinar description
Join RTDS Technologies for a free webinar focused on the RTDS Simulator's new IED Configuration Tool. The RTDS Simulator - the world standard in real-time power system simulation - has long included support for IEC 61850 protocols, enabling power system engineers to test protective relays via GOOSE Messaging, MMS, and Sampled Values. De-risking digital substations before deployment via hardware-in-the-loop testing ensures reliable, secure operation and improved performance.
Recently, as part of the release of the RSCAD FX 2.7 software, RTDS Technologies introduced a new version of the IED Configuration Tool - ICTv2 - which significantly improves the experience for users using IEC 61850 GOOSE and MMS protocols to perform hardware-in-the-loop testing of protection, automation, and control in the digital substation environment. Use of this built-in tool is required for configuration of simulated IEC 61850-compliant IEDs as well as devices under test, so its new capabilities, features, and ease of use are important to protection and automation engineers.
