In RSCAD’s RunTime interface, a plot update happens automatically when a user changes an input or initiates an event. The plots can also be manually updated using RunTime’s “Update Plots” button. RSCAD also has a facility which allows a plot update to be initated by a control system within the user’s RSCAD case, or by an external device interfaced with the RTDS Simulator. The user can add the rtds_sharc_ctl_PLOT_UPDATE component, pictured below, to their RSCAD Draft case in order to use this function.
An integer transition from 0 to 1 will cause the RunTime plots to update if this icon is included in a Draft case. In order to enable this function, the “Arm External Plot Update” button must be selected in the RunTime interface. The button may be selected a second time to disarm the external plot update.
