What to expect

CIGRE brings together all the key players in the electric power systems sector: business leaders, system operators, manufacturers, engineers, policy makers, regulators, academics, and many others.

Join us this year at Booth 45, for interactive demos on the Universal Converter model and the GTSOC.

See the Universal Converter Model and GTSOC in action

We’ll be demonstrating our Universal Converter Model for power electronics simulation. The UCM is our most accessible, flexible, and accurate EMT converter model yet. For the first time ever, it allows full switching representation in the Mainstep environment (up to ~10 khz). In the Substep environment, it can support switching frequencies in the ~150 kHz range!

We’ll also be demonstrating our new GTSOC hardware for real-time black box control implementation. The GTSOC allows for detailed DER control models to be integrated into the real-time simulation while protecting vendor IP. Come to our booth at CIGRE Canada to learn more!

Since 1921, CIGRE has been a force in the advancement of knowledge and technological innovation in the field of electric power systems.

CIGRE Canada is the Canadian National Committee of the International Council on Large Electric Systems, the leading international organization on high-voltage electricity generation and transmission.

“CIGRE Canada’s mission is to raise CIGRE’s profile in Canada, increase membership, and provide information about its activities and publications. In addition, CIGRE Canada fosters the participation of Canadian members in CIGRE activities, and encourages them to present papers, or join working groups.

Today, our network extends to 90 countries worldwide. This means that we benefit from the experience and expertise that springs from the research and practice in each of these different countries. And, in turn, we bring this wealth of information back to our members through working groups, conferences, technical papers and reports.”
