Triple Processor Card

3PC Card

The Triple Processor Card (3PC) is used to perform the computations required to model the user's power system. Each 3PC contains three Analog Devices ADSP21062 (SHARC) Digital Signal Processors (DSP).

The 3PC card has 3 processors, each of which provide for 8 channels of analogue output for monitoring and connection to external equipment.

It is important to note that all 3PC's within the RTDSŪ Simulator are identical and that none of the hardware is dedicated to modeling a particular power system component. Therefore, during one simulation case a given processor may be required to participate in the modeling of a transformer while during the next case the same processor may be modeling a synchronous machine or transmission line.
